Amendment of Import Policies and Regulations

In order to improve the smooth flow of goods in the implementation of import policies and regulations, the Minister of Trade has amended the regulation of import policies as stipulated in MoT No. 16 of 2025 concerning Import Policies and Regulations, as has been amended by MoT Regulation No.37/2025, through MoT Regulation No. 18 of 2026 concerning the Second Amendment to MoT Regulation No. 16 of 2025 concerning Import Policies and Regulations.

Through this new policy, the government provides procedural relaxation for goods facing logistical constraints during transit, while strictly tightening sanctions for non-compliant importers.

All administrative procedures are now processed online through the INATRADE System, which is fully integrated with the Indonesia National Single Window (SINSW) portal. The summary of the new rules regarding relaxations and tightened sanctions is as follows:

The provisions regarding the post-expiry relaxation of LS documents and the automatic freezing of identical commodity permits will take effect 30 days after this regulation comes into force.

This regulation was enacted in Jakarta on June 3, 2026, promulgated on June 4, 2026, and took effect immediately on the date of its promulgation.
