The Minister of Trade has issued a new Regulation No. 8 of 2026 dated 14 April 2026, and effective on April 15, 2026, regarding the revocation of MoT Regulation Number 10 of 2020 concerning the Temporary Ban on the Importation of Live Animals from the Republic of China. This revocation follows the conclusion of the global public health emergency status (public health emergency of international concern) previously declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the formal declaration of the end of the pandemic status in Indonesia through Presidential Decree Number 17 of 2023.

With the enactment of this regulation, the temporary ban on the importation of live animals from the Republic of China is officially revoked and declared no longer valid.
